For her part, Hanan Mansour Ahli, Director of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Center, said: “The UAE’s position as the first in the Arab world for several years, and its advancement globally by five positions at once, indicates the extent of the efforts made by our rational government to achieve the best levels of prosperity for society. The UAE, and the emphasis on supporting national skills and competencies to take their natural place in leading the process of renaissance and development to ensure a promising and sustainable future for future generations.”

Ahli added: “The country has achieved this remarkable progress in the Human Development Index 2022 thanks to the combined efforts of the executive team for the Human Development Index report, which consists of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Economy, in addition to the Federal Center for Competitiveness and Statistics, and the efforts of local statistical centers in the country. “.

The Human Development Report is issued by the United Nations Program annually and since 1990, and it is a composite indicator that expresses the level of well-being of peoples through three dimensions: “health, knowledge, and standard of living”, which are represented in four indicators: life expectancy at birth, and expected years of schooling. years of schooling, average years of schooling, and per capita GDP.

According to the report, which came this year entitled “The Industry of the Future, in a Transforming World,” the country’s score reached 0.911 degrees, ahead of last year by 0.021 degrees, while Switzerland, which ranked first in the world, reached 0.962 degrees, and according to the four main indicators of the report, it reached The country’s balance in the indicator of life expectancy at birth is 78.7 years, which falls under the third goal of the sustainable development goals “good health and well-being” which were adopted by the Member States of the United Nations for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. As for the country’s balance in the indicator of expected years of study, it reached 15.7 year, and the average years of schooling reached 12.7 years, reflecting the fourth goal of quality education, while the report estimated the per capita GDP at 62,574 dollars, which reflects the eighth goal of decent work and economic growth. Switzerland ranked first in the world, followed by Norway, Iceland, Hong Kong and fourth, while Australia ranked fifth in the world.
